Special Interventions

Overview of Intervention Philosophy

At Skills and Ability School, Special Interventions are thoughtfully designed to support children and young individuals who require focused, individualized therapeutic care alongside academic engagement. These interventions address diverse developmental, behavioral, sensory, and learning challenges, ensuring each learner receives the tailored support needed for holistic growth.

Key Programs & Therapeutic Services

  • Early Intervention Program (EIP): A foundational program designed for children aged 2 to 6 years showing early signs of developmental delays or atypical growth patterns. EIP focuses on improving communication, motor skills, cognition, and social-emotional development through structured play, therapy sessions, and sensory activities. The early years are critical, and our EIP ensures timely support for maximum long-term benefits.
  • Autism Intervention: A specialized intervention framework for children on the Autism Spectrum, focusing on enhancing communication, reducing repetitive behaviors, promoting social interaction, and improving daily living skills. The program includes evidence-based practices like Structured Teaching, Sensory Integration, ABA principles, and visual communication tools tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Occupational Therapy (OT): Helps students improve fine motor skills, coordination, posture, sensory processing, and independence in everyday tasks.
    • Speech & Language Therapy: Aimed at improving articulation, receptive and expressive language, pragmatic skills, and oral-motor control.
    • Behavioral Therapy & ABA: Targeted behavioral programs using Applied Behavior Analysis techniques to reduce maladaptive behaviors and develop positive alternatives.
    • Remedial Education: Academic therapy for children with learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. Focus is on bridging learning gaps in reading, writing, and math.
    • Psychological Counseling & Emotional Support: For students needing help with anxiety, self-regulation, emotional expression, and building self-confidence and peer relationships.
  • Intervention Delivery Model

Each intervention is built on a thorough assessment and results in an Individualized Therapeutic Plan (ITP). Sessions may be conducted one-on-one or in small peer groups, depending on the child’s need. Therapists, educators, and parents collaborate closely to ensure integration of strategies into the child’s daily routine and learning environment.

    Monitoring & Family Involvemen

Regular reviews, progress charts, and family counseling ensure that intervention goals are met, and parents remain informed, engaged, and trained to support their child beyond school hours.
